Synopsis

We are looking for a reliable and technically minded Water Treatment Operator to operate and monitor water treatment systems, ensuring water is processed safely and efficiently in line with quality and environmental standards. You will monitor plant equipment, conduct routine tests, and respond to operational issues to maintain consistent water quality.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and monitor water treatment plant equipment and systems
Conduct routine water quality tests and record results accurately
Monitor chemical dosing, filtration, pumps, tanks, and treatment processes
Identify and respond to equipment faults or changes in water quality
Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance
Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and compliance records
Follow health, safety, environmental, and water quality regulations
Assist with preventative maintenance and plant improvement projects

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

Matric certificate with a relevant water treatment qualification or technical certificate
Previous experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, or plant operations is advantageous
Knowledge of water treatment processes, pumps, filtration, and chemical dosing systems
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Basic computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays where required
Valid driver's licence is advantageous
