Warehouse Supervisor - Durban
Role Overview
Lead daily warehouse operations in Durban for a food-manufacturing environment, ensuring efficient stock control, staff supervision and compliance with food-safety, hygiene and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise warehouse operations and staff.
- Manage receiving, checking, storage and issuing of raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
- Monitor stock levels, conduct stock counts and investigate discrepancies, shortages, damages and variances.
- Apply FIFO and FEFO stock rotation, monitor expiry dates and minimise losses and wastage.
- Coordinate stock requirements with Production, Procurement and Dispatch.
- Maintain warehouse organisation, cleanliness, housekeeping, food safety, hygiene, GMP and OHS standards.
- Monitor cold-chain and temperature-controlled stock where applicable.
- Supervise attendance, productivity, discipline and performance and allocate daily duties.
- Complete reports and documentation, support audits and inspections, and implement corrective actions.
- Create, maintain and communicate warehouse SOPs, review processes and train staff.
Requirements
- Previous Warehouse Supervisor experience is essential.
- FMCG or food-manufacturing experience is highly advantageous.
- Strong stock and inventory control, SOP and operational-process experience.
- Good understanding of FIFO, FEFO, food safety, hygiene and warehouse compliance.
- Strong leadership, Excel, administrative, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and operational hours or overtime when required.
