Warehouse Manager

A client of ours within the manufacturing industry is looking for a dedicated Warehouse Manager to join their team based in the South of Johannesburg.

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 3 years experience as Warehouse Manager
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Must have Logistics experience
  • Experience in managing people necessary 
  • Coming from similar industry would be beneficial
Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Inventory & Stock Control
  • Material Handling: Manage the receipt, inspection, and recording of raw materials and packaging.
  • Stock Accuracy: Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical stock takes to resolve any discrepancies.
  • FIFO Compliance: Ensure proper rotation of stock using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) methods to prevent material spoilage or degradation.
  • Liaise with Production: Ensure all required raw materials and ingredients are staged and available on the production floor ahead of manufacturing schedules. 
 
2. Warehouse Operations
  • Daily Workflow: Supervise picking, packing, and dispatching processes to meet tight manufacturing deadlines.
  • Space Optimization: Maximize warehouse layout, storage capacity, and general housekeeping.
  • SOP Execution: Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reduce waste and stock losses.
 
3. Transport & Dispatch Management
  • Dispatch Scheduling: Plan and coordinate logistics to ensure timely, accurate deliveries to clients.
  • Fleet Oversight: Manage drivers, oversee loading procedures, and ensure goods are securely fastened for transit.
  • Documentation: Verify and maintain accurate dispatch paperwork, delivery notes, and waybills.
 
4. Staff Management
  • Supervision: Lead, train, and manage warehouse personnel.
  • Performance: Monitor team productivity, enforce discipline, and ensure workplace safety.
 
5. Compliance & Reporting
  • Safety & OHS: Ensure strict compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including equipment checks (e.g., forklifts) and facility alarm systems.
  • Reporting: Prepare operational and stock reports to assist upper management with cost control and internal audits
