Unit Manager - Theatre

Introduction

Take responsibility for the clinical and operational management of a Theatre Unit in Bloemfontein. The Unit Manager will maintain high standards of surgical care while supporting and developing the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage theatre operations and daily patient flow.
• Provide effective clinical leadership to the nursing team.
• Ensure theatre policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and departmental resources.
• Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and patient-safety indicators.
• Build effective relationships with the multidisciplinary surgical team.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with active SANC registration.
• Relevant Theatre Nursing qualification is advantageous.
• Previous operating-theatre experience.
• Unit-management or supervisory experience.
• Sound understanding of clinical governance and infection prevention.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
