Transfer Secretary Cape Town

A well-regarded law firm based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Transfer Secretary to join its conveyancing department.

Salary: Market-related

Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Relevant legal secretarial qualification advantageous
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Transfer Secretary within a conveyancing practice
  • Sound knowledge of the transfer process and related conveyancing procedures
  • Experience working on conveyancing software
  • Strong administrative ability and attention to detail

Duties:

  • Opening and maintaining transfer files
  • Drafting transfer documents and related correspondence
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, municipalities, bond attorneys, cancellation attorneys, and the Deeds Office
  • Obtaining rates clearances, levy clearances, and transfer duty receipts
  • Following up on FICA and compliance documentation
  • Coordinating signing appointments and ensuring documents are properly executed
  • Providing regular progress updates on matters
  • Attending to post-registration administration and file closure
