A well-regarded law firm based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Transfer Secretary to join its conveyancing department.
Salary: Market-related
Requirements:
- Matric
- Relevant legal secretarial qualification advantageous
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Transfer Secretary within a conveyancing practice
- Sound knowledge of the transfer process and related conveyancing procedures
- Experience working on conveyancing software
- Strong administrative ability and attention to detail
Duties:
- Opening and maintaining transfer files
- Drafting transfer documents and related correspondence
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, municipalities, bond attorneys, cancellation attorneys, and the Deeds Office
- Obtaining rates clearances, levy clearances, and transfer duty receipts
- Following up on FICA and compliance documentation
- Coordinating signing appointments and ensuring documents are properly executed
- Providing regular progress updates on matters
- Attending to post-registration administration and file closure
