Tracking Clerk
Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Tracking Clerk to assist with the coordination and monitoring of shipments, particularly cross-border logistics.Minimum Requirements
- Previous cross-border logistics experience is essential.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of international logistics processes.
- Previous experience in a tracking, logistics, transport or administration role will be advantageous.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers and service providers.
- Strong follow-up and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must be reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and monitor local and cross-border shipments from dispatch to final delivery.
- Liaise with suppliers, transporters, customers, and other relevant stakeholders regarding shipment progress.
- Obtain and communicate shipment updates and estimated delivery times.
- Monitor shipment statuses and promptly identify and escalate delays or discrepancies.
- Capture and maintain accurate tracking information on internal systems and spreadsheets.
- Assist with basic international logistics administration and documentation.
- Follow up with suppliers and logistics providers regarding outstanding information.
- Ensure all relevant shipment documentation is received, recorded, and filed correctly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections and shipment movements.
- Provide regular updates to internal teams regarding shipment status.
- Escalate any potential delays, issues, or exceptions to the relevant department.
- Assist with general logistics administration as required.
