Duties:

• Architect scalable data platforms utilizing Microsoft Azure technologies including Azure SQL, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Databricks, PySpark Notebooks, and Dataverse.

• Lead initiatives to modernize legacy systems into cloud-native architectures.

• Govern data lifecycle management and ensure compliance with POPIA, GDPR, and internal standards.

• Enable business intelligence and analytics through Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, and Azure Machine Learning.

• Support application development and integration by providing architectural guidance for .NET applications and data solutions.

• Promote automation and DevOps practices via CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated workflows.

• Collaborate across teams and stakeholders to align technology strategies with business objectives.

• Mentor and develop talent within the data architecture team.

• Maintain data quality and observability using tools like Azure Log Analytics, Purview, and Application Insights.

Requirements:

• Proven experience of 7+ years in data architecture or related roles.

• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure data services and cloud-native solutions.

• Proficiency with Power BI, R, C, and data analytics tools.

• Solid understanding of data governance, compliance, and quality management.

• Demonstrated ability to lead modernization projects and support application development.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and team leadership skills.

Familiarity with the following:

• Data lifecycle governance, POPIA, GDPR

• DevOps practices and automation tools

• Application development in .NET environment
