Technical Sales Representative

A well-established supplier of specialised industrial cleaning chemical solutions is seeking a proactive Sales Representative to expand its footprint across the hospitality, food & beverage, and laundry industries.

This role offers the chance to represent a reputable brand, influence market growth, and take full ownership of your sales territory.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
  • A Diploma in Sales or Marketing would be beneficial
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a comparable sales role is required
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office is advantageous
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Strong sales, presentation, and bilingual communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Well-developed organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Solid problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines consistently
 
DUTIES
  • Uphold the company’s brand image and values through professional conduct at all times
  • Conduct an average of ten client visits per day
  • Compile and submit weekly call reports to the Sales Manager
  • Track and manage sales performance and gross profit margins
  • Promote and sell products and services to both existing and prospective clients
  • Actively pursue and follow up on leads and referrals generated through fieldwork
  • Deliver product demonstrations to current and potential customers
  • Identify and grow additional business opportunities within existing accounts (upselling)
  • Achieve agreed-upon sales targets
  • Prepare detailed service reports for clients when required
  • Ensure client staff receive appropriate product and service training
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within each account (e.g. Buyers, General Managers, Chefs, Contract or Area Managers)
  • Support customer deliveries when unexpected situations arise
  • Perform basic technical installations, maintenance, and repairs of equipment where needed
  • Provide after-hours support to customers when necessary
  • Attend and actively contribute to sales meetings
  • Share market feedback, including competitor activity and account developments, with the sales team
  • Assist the Debtors team with collections and follow-ups on outstanding payments when required
Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
