Technical Sales Representative - Industrial Automation

Synopsis

An industrial product supplier is seeking a Gauteng-based Technical Sales Representative to sell specialised electrical and automation products into mining, manufacturing and industrial customers. The position requires an external salesperson who is comfortable discussing technical requirements and developing new business relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit prospective and existing customers across the assigned territory.
• Understand customer operational requirements and recommend suitable technical products.
• Provide product information and technical support during the sales process.
• Prepare quotations and follow up on outstanding opportunities.
• Develop new customer relationships within industrial sectors.
• Maintain existing accounts and identify additional sales opportunities.
• Achieve monthly sales and growth targets.
• Prepare sales reports and analyse activity against targets.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

• At least two years of external technical sales experience.
• Experience in electrical, industrial, automation or related product sales.
• Ability to conduct customer visits and technical product discussions.
• Strong quotation, follow-up and relationship-management skills.
• Results-focused approach to meeting sales targets.
