Technical Sales Representative - Industrial Automation

Synopsis

A supplier of specialised electrical and industrial automation products is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to grow business across mining, industrial and manufacturing customers in the Western Cape. The role combines external sales, customer site visits, technical product advice and ongoing account development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct customer visits to understand operational and technical requirements.
• Recommend suitable electrical and automation products and solutions.
• Provide technical product advice and support to customers.
• Prepare quotations and follow up on sales opportunities.
• Identify new business opportunities within target industries.
• Manage relationships with existing customer accounts.
• Work toward monthly sales and business-growth objectives.
• Prepare sales reports and review performance against targets.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

• At least two years of external sales experience.
• Experience in electrical, industrial, automation or another technical sales environment.
• Ability to understand customer operational requirements and recommend suitable products.
• Strong customer-facing and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to prepare quotations and manage sales opportunities through follow-up.
