Introduction

Our client is seeking a Sonographer to join its diagnostic services team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality service delivery, operational reliability, and patient-focused outcomes within their assigned healthcare function.

  • Prepare, process, analyse, or support patient diagnostic workflows in line with approved clinical standards.
  • Operate and monitor relevant diagnostic equipment safely and accurately.
  • Maintain clear records, sample tracking, imaging documentation, or reporting support as required by the role.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, infection prevention controls, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with medical practitioners and support teams to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Escalate equipment, specimen, or workflow issues promptly and support corrective action.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, stock control, and department housekeeping standards.

This role may also involve supporting process improvement, compliance readiness, and cross-functional collaboration depending on the nature of the unit or practice.

  • Relevant healthcare, laboratory, diagnostic, or imaging qualification aligned to the scope of the role.
  • Experience working with technical equipment, quality standards, and accurate healthcare documentation.
  • Typically suited to candidates with 5+ years relevant experience, stronger decision-making ability, and confidence handling more complex responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills, professional conduct, and the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, clinicians, and support teams.
  • Computer literacy and confidence using relevant healthcare, scheduling, reporting, or records systems would be advantageous.
