Site Manager - Secunda
Role Purpose
The Site Manager is responsible for the overall management and coordination of site activities within a power plant or industrial Control and Instrumentation (C&I) environment. The role ensures that all electrical and instrumentation work is executed according to approved specifications, project schedules, Eskom standards, and safety requirements while coordinating personnel, subcontractors, and project resources effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management and Coordination
Oversee and coordinate all site activities and project execution
Manage manpower, equipment, tools, and material requirements on site
Monitor project schedules, productivity, and work progress
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
Coordinate activities between client representatives, engineers, and subcontractors
Technical Supervision
Supervise C&I installation and electrical activities on site
Review and interpret schematic drawings, loop drawings, and technical specifications
Ensure all work is completed according to approved drawings and quality standards
Support commissioning, fault finding, and troubleshooting activities
Compliance and Safety Management
Ensure compliance with Eskom standards, statutory regulations, and quality requirements
Conduct toolbox talks and enforce site safety procedures and controls
Ensure implementation of quality assurance processes and inspection requirements
Verify inspection records and test documentation prior to submission
Role Requirements
B Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
Minimum 2 years’ experience within a power plant or industrial C&I environment
Strong knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
Understanding of standalone controllers, recorders, and industrial bus protocols
Ability to interpret schematic and loop drawings
Project coordination and contractor supervision experience
Knowledge of site safety standards and quality compliance procedures
Strong planning, reporting, and organisational skills
