SHEE Coordinator

Role Overview

An opportunity is available at a manufacturing site in Atlantis for a proactive and detail-oriented SHEE Coordinator. This hands-on coordination and systems-management role covers core occupational health and safety compliance, environmental sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives, facility maintenance coordination and third-party service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the site’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Energy Management Systems.
  • Drive safety culture by implementing Behaviour-Based Safety programmes and managing safety-culture surveys.
  • Lead internal audits, schedule external assessments, and track corrective actions to closure.
  • Coordinate SHEE training, facilitate risk assessments, and manage incident logging and statistical reporting.
  • Maintain rigorous document control and statutory record-keeping for legal and corporate compliance.
  • Oversee third-party contractors and ensure adherence to site safety protocols and legal induction requirements.
  • Manage specialised service providers including waste management, pest control, hygiene services, and landscaping.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance requests to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant physical plant environment.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels for Personal Protective Equipment and safety signage.

Requirements

  • Formal qualification in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Certified Management Systems training, such as ISO 14001 for Environment and ISO 50001 for Energy Management, is highly advantageous.
  • Recognised OHS qualification.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a Safety, Health, and Environment role, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Experience tracking utility data, energy-efficiency initiatives, or sustainability projects.
  • Track record managing third-party contractors and facility service providers.
  • Experience auditing management systems and driving Behaviour-Based Safety methodologies.

Success Profile

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to read utility meters, interpret energy data, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Comfortable delivering safety training and enforcing compliance with external contractors.
  • Highly organised with advanced digital document-control and reporting skills.
