Senior Warehouse Operations Manager

Role Overview

An experienced, hands-on Senior Warehouse Manager is required to take full operational control of a Cape Town warehouse. The role focuses on stock accuracy, disciplined processes, accountable people, operational controls, and measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate daily warehouse activities and ensure deadlines and service levels are met.
• Own stock accuracy and inventory control.
• Manage cycle counts, stock takes, investigations, adjustments, losses, and damages.
• Oversee receiving, checking, labelling, put-away, stock locations, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns.
• Coordinate freight and ensure dispatch documentation is complete.
• Manage, develop, and hold warehouse staff accountable.
• Ensure physical stock movements, transfers, and adjustments are reflected in the warehouse system.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, stock, productivity, dispatch, and operational KPIs.
• Improve warehouse systems and KPI performance.
• Control layout, space utilisation, and storage costs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and secure warehouse and comply with safety, security, and fire-audit requirements.

Requirements

• Five or more years' warehouse experience, including two to three years in management or supervision.
• Hands-on inventory and stock-control experience.
• Experience with receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns.
• Warehouse-management systems and Excel experience.
• Ability to reconcile physical stock with system records and investigate discrepancies.
• Strong accountability, attention to detail, problem-solving, people-management, and commercial awareness.
• Own reliable transport and valid driver's licence; able to commute to Cape Town.
