Senior Sewing Machine Mechanic - Industrial Sewing Machines

Synopsis

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Sewing Machine Mechanic to take responsibility for the maintenance, repair, electronic troubleshooting, programming, setup and optimisation of industrial sewing machines. Candidate must be a hands-on, versatile, and technically strong mechanic who can work across different types of industrial sewing equipment and confidently handle mechanical, electrical, electronic and programming-related faults.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsibilites: Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial sewing machines.
• Perform electronic fault-finding, programming, and machine calibration.
• Set up and optimise machines for different production requirements.
• Preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Train and supervise junior mechanics and machine technicians.
• Ensure machines operate efficiently with minimum downtime.
• Work closely with production teams to resolve mechanical, electrical, and programming-related problems.
• Maintain accurate records of machine repairs, maintenance, and spare parts.
• The successful candidate must be highly versatile and have hands-on experience with: Single-needle sewing machines.
• Double-needle sewing machines.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

• Requirements Relevant certification / qualification in the field would be advantageous.
• Proven experience as a Senior Sewing Machine Mechanic.
• Strong mechanical and electrical/electronic knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair computerized industrial sewing machines.
• Good understanding of machine programming and electronic control systems.
• Ability to work independently and under production pressure.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to lead, train and manage a maintenance team.
