Role Overview

A Senior Quality Assurance Officer is required in Durban to ensure the quality and reliability of software solutions across payments and digital onboarding products. The role combines test strategy, automation, compliance awareness, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Testing & Compliance

Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test suites covering functional, regression, performance, and API testing.
Conduct API testing across payment integrations and digital onboarding services.
Execute performance and load testing to validate system behaviour under realistic conditions.
Identify, log, and track defects through resolution with clear and accurate reporting.
Identify security and compliance gaps and flag risks against financial-services regulatory requirements.
Ensure QA activities support applicable banking and compliance frameworks.

Process Improvement & Stakeholders

Review and improve QA processes and implement consistent standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with developers during sprint planning to define acceptance criteria and shift testing earlier in the delivery cycle.
Build working relationships with developers, product managers, designers, and business stakeholders.
Communicate quality risks, test progress, outcomes, and release readiness clearly and promptly.

Experience & Qualification

Relevant degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
ISTQB Foundation certification is preferred; Agile or Scrum training is advantageous.
Demonstrated quality-assurance experience in a software-delivery environment.
Hands-on Mendix testing experience and exposure to fintech, payments, or banking are advantageous.
Practical experience with Postman or Newman, SoapUI, and JMeter or Gatling.
Proven experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery teams.
