Senior Lecturer - Computer Science and Software Engineering

The Opportunity

The Academy of Computer Science and Software Engineering within a Faculty of Science is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Johannesburg. The academic will contribute to teaching and learning, research and administration while helping the Academy, Faculty and University meet key performance indicators and mission objectives.

Responsibilities

• Undertake teaching and learning activities in computer science and software engineering.
• Contribute to research and academic development.
• Complete administrative duties supporting the Academy and Faculty.
• Contribute to the Annual Projects Day, a showcase of approximately 60 senior-student practical software-development projects.
• Support examination administration, including auditing answer scripts.

Requirements

• Pass a practical programming assessment determined by the Academy.
• Successfully contribute to Projects Day activities.
• Experience managing the auditing of answer scripts for computer-science examinations.
• Strong teaching, research, administration and communication capability.
