Role Overview

An experienced Senior Java Developer is required to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of market-leading Point of Sale solutions in a large retail environment. The role combines enterprise Java delivery, sound business acumen, and collaboration with international project teams, customers, and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver enterprise retail Point of Sale solutions.
Integrate enterprise and third-party systems and support SAP integration.
Work with Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, SQL, Oracle, and SQL Server technologies.
Contribute to software quality, documentation, testing, continuous integration, and fault finding.
Apply software ergonomics and user-interface considerations where relevant.
Work confidently in a large corporate and matrix environment with international teams, customers, and senior stakeholders.

Requirements

Five or more years' experience developing retail Point of Sale solutions and enterprise Java solutions.
Strong knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, SQL, Oracle and/or SQL Server.
Experience with Spring, Web Services, GWT, Jenkins, Nexus, Eclipse, SVN, and JUnit.
Strong knowledge of SAP solutions and SAP integration.
Strong analytical, conceptual, mathematical, business, and fault-finding skills.
Degree in Information Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent relevant education, with strong English communication and documentation skills.
