Sea and Airfreight Imports Controller

Role Overview

Coordinate sea and airfreight import shipments from origin through final delivery in Cape Town, ensuring accurate documentation, customs processes and timely resolution of shipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate import shipments from origin to final delivery.
• Handle sea and airfreight imports.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, clearing agents and transporters.
• Monitor shipment schedules, arrivals and delivery dates.
• Ensure accurate and timely import documentation.
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies.
• Assist with customs clearance and related import procedures.
• Maintain records and update clients and stakeholders on shipment status.
• Ensure imports are handled efficiently and within deadlines.

Requirements

• Matric.
• Previous Imports Controller or similar experience.
• Strong knowledge of sea and airfreight.
• Understanding of import documentation and customs procedures.
• Freight-forwarding or logistics experience is essential.
