Sales Representative - Steel

Synopsis

A Cape Town steel and fabrication business is looking for a consultative Sales Representative to convert design enquiries into signed projects. The role requires understanding a client's spatial requirements, aesthetic goals and budget, then guiding the customer through quotations, design discussions and project sign-off in collaboration with the fabrication team.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for new and prospective clients.
• Understand customer spatial requirements, aesthetic preferences and budgets.
• Prepare quotations based on materials, design complexity, finishes and installation requirements.
• Guide customers through design discussions and project decisions.
• Coordinate with the fabrication team before project sign-off.
• Conduct site visits and take accurate measurements where required.
• Manage the sales pipeline and keep client and project records current.
• Follow enquiries through from initial contact to confirmed project.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

• At least three years of sales experience.
• Sales experience in construction, architecture, interior design, steel or a related trade environment is preferred.
• Strong consultative selling and customer-engagement skills.
• Ability to understand design requirements and translate them into accurate quotations.
• Comfort conducting site visits and taking measurements.
• Ability to maintain accurate CRM or project-tracking records.
