Sales Manager – Technical / Hydraulic Solutions

Are you an experienced Technical Sales Manager with a passion for driving growth and leading successful teams?

Our client in Cape Town is seeking a commercially minded professional to lead sales initiatives, build strong client relationships and provide excellent customer service both on-site and in-store.

Working closely with the Managing Director, this role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping business strategy, achieving ambitious growth objectives and contributing to the ongoing success of a well-established company.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Matric, or related qualification
  • Diploma or degree in Sales and Marketing advantageous 
  • Degree in Engineering or related studies advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years in a managerial role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with SAGE accounting systems
  • Able to work well independently as well as within a team
  • Valid SA driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Bilingual in English & Afrikaans
  • Office hours: Mon – Thurs 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 07:30 – 15:30
DUTIES
 
Sales & Strategy
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to build and sustain a strong pipeline
  • Set and drive achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual targets
  • Forecast sales performance and share insights with leadership
Marketing & Growth
  • Analyse market trends and competitors to inform strategy
  • Identify new markets, opportunities and key clients
  • Represent the company at industry events and expand brand presence
  • Maintain strong technical and industry knowledge
Client Relationships
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, suppliers and teams
  • Promote a strong client-centric culture
  • Gather and share client feedback to inform business decisions
Team Leadership
  • Lead, develop and performance-manage the sales team
  • Ensure teams have the tools, skills and support to succeed
  • Assist with key sales activities, including quoting
 
Salary: Basic salary, car allowance, contribution to medical aid, pension fund benefit, company laptop, mobile phone and fuel card. Performance-based bonus, dependent on company targets being achieved.
