Sales Engineer - Valves and Pumps

Role Overview

Grow the valves and pumps business in Benoni by identifying target plants, opening doors and reaching engineers and maintenance decision-makers. You will uncover operational problems, generate RFQs, prepare commercially sound proposals and convert opportunities into completed sales.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline.
• Identify target plants and open relationships with technical decision-makers.
• Develop pump supply, repair and refurbishment opportunities.
• Work with mine dewatering, process-water, slurry and utility pumps.
• Develop pump and valve maintenance contracts.
• Generate RFQs and prepare commercially sound proposals.
• Close orders and follow each sale through to invoicing and payment.
• Submit accurate daily and weekly sales reports.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of successful business-to-business sales experience.
• A technical qualification in mechanical engineering, fitting, valves, pumps, instrumentation or a related field is advantageous.
• Relevant technical sales experience may be considered.
• Commercial confidence and the ability to communicate with engineers and maintenance decision-makers.
