Our client in Cape Town, an accounting and tax firm, is expanding its team and seeking a proactive professional passionate about delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and compliance services across a variety of industries.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles, experience with trial balances, tax submissions and client liaison, and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
The company offers flexible, in-office working hours from Monday to Friday.
REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS
- Registered tax practitioner or completed SAIPA, SAIT or AGA(SA) articles advantageous
- 6+ years tax and accounting experience in an accounting or audit firm
- 5+ years experience with SARS eFiling, Draftworx, Sage Accounting or Xero
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and Afrikaans
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Solid knowledge of IAS, IFRS for SMEs, Companies Act, and tax regulations including VAT, PAYE and SARS processes
- Confident in client interaction and third-party communication
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Accurate data capturing and attention to detail
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Prepare and review tax calculations and returns
- Process financial data and compile tax schedules
- Submit tax returns, reconciliations and related documents
- Communicate with clients regarding tax matters and deadlines
- Compile management accounts and annual financial statements
- Prepare financial reports and supporting working papers
- Handle client queries on tax, bookkeeping and financial statements
- Manage various tax types including income, provisional, VAT and payroll
- Liaise with SARS on objections, appeals and disputes
- Stay updated on tax legislation
- Train and support team members
- Assist with billing and timesheet management
- Perform additional duties to meet revenue targets
