Synopsis

An industrial operation is seeking a Safety Officer to promote safe work practices, monitor compliance, and support incident prevention across operational teams. The role works closely with supervisors, contractors, and management.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct workplace inspections and record safety observations.
Support risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns.
Monitor adherence to safe-work procedures and permit requirements.
Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
Maintain safety files, registers, and compliance evidence.
Engage with contractors and operational teams on safety requirements.
Prepare safety reports and escalate material risks.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

Relevant occupational health and safety qualification.
Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, mining, or plant environment.
Working knowledge of South African workplace safety requirements.
Strong inspection, reporting, and communication skills.
Ability to work on operational sites and engage confidently with teams.
