Report writer and Analyst - Roodepoort

Introduction
The Report Writer and Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering accurate and insightful reports and analyses to support data-driven decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with reporting tools, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights for stakeholders across the organization

Responsibilities:
  • Design, create, and maintain regular and ad-hoc reports.
  • Ensure reports are accurate, consistent, and delivered within deadlines.
  • Automate reporting processes where possible to improve efficiency.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
  • Develop dashboards and visualization tools to make data more accessible.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand reporting needs
  • Present findings in a clear and concise manner, tailored to the audience.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain documentation for reports, processes, and data sources.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of reports delivered.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction with insights provided.
  • Reduction in manual reporting through automation.
  • Contribution to data-driven decision-making

Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 – Essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or related field (advantageous but not essential).
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a similar reporting or analyst role.
  • Experience with writing performant SQL queries by hand.
  • Proven experience with business intelligence tools (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, SSRS).
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation
Knowledge & skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros).
  • Knowledge of databases, ETL processes, and reporting environments.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis methods (advantageous).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand stakeholder needs.
