REGIONAL FINANCIAL MANAGER

Role Overview

Introduction
An established company operating within a large-scale manufacturing environment is seeking an experienced Regional Financial Manager to take overall responsibility for its Gauteng finance function.

This is a senior, highly operational role suited to an accomplished Financial Manager who is comfortable leading a sizeable finance team while remaining hands-on and closely involved in the day-to-day financial operation.

The successful candidate will oversee a finance team of 20+ employees, including Financial Controllers, Financial Administrators and Payment Administrators, and will report to senior Group Finance leadership and a Company Director.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full accounting and finance function for the Gauteng region
Manage, develop, mentor and lead a finance team of 20+ employees
Review the work performed by the finance team to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely delivery
Ensure accounting activities are performed in accordance with company processes and relevant legislative requirements
Oversee and continuously assess finance policies, procedures and operational processes
Review financial information for accuracy, correctness and completeness
Ensure operational finance processes and controls are consistently implemented and adhered to
Authorise, oversee and review creditor, expense and COD payments
Perform financial analysis and reporting
Implement, maintain and strengthen financial controls
Support senior Group Finance leadership with regional financial information and requirements
Drive accountability and high standards across the Gauteng finance function

Requirements

Desired Experience & Qualification
We are looking for an experienced Financial Manager who has already operated at this level and has a strong track record of managing both a finance function and a sizeable team.

Essential requirements:
Relevant Finance or Accounting Degree / Diploma
Approximately 10+ years’ relevant finance/accounting experience
Proven experience operating at Financial Manager level
Minimum 4 years’ experience managing a finance team
Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting processes and operational finance
Experience working with established accounting / ERP systems
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong Microsoft Office proficiency

Advantageous:
Additional professional accounting qualifications or memberships
Experience gained within manufacturing, production, FMCG, engineering, logistics, mining/metals, automotive, food & beverage, packaging or another high-volume operational environment.
