Receiving Clerk (Retail Back of House)

Our client is appointing a Receiving Clerk to ensure inbound stock is checked, recorded, and stored accurately. This role is ideal for someone organised and detail-focused who enjoys structured operational work. You will support the store’s ability to trade by ensuring stock is available and system movements are correct. The environment requires strong discipline because errors cause shrink and availability issues. You will work closely with stockroom teams and management to keep documentation complete. If you enjoy back-of-house operations and process accuracy, this role is a strong fit.

• Receive deliveries, verify quantities and quality, and reconcile against delivery documentation.
• Capture receipts accurately on the system and escalate discrepancies immediately.
• Ensure correct storage, labelling, and back-of-house organisation standards.
• Coordinate returns to suppliers and manage documentation for credits.
• Support stockroom layout improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
• Maintain filing and audit trails for receiving, returns, and transfers.
• Support cycle counts and stock takes as required.

• Matric essential.
• 1–3 years receiving/warehouse experience, ideally in retail.
• Comfortable with basic systems and paperwork accuracy.
• Physically fit and able to handle stock movement safely.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow process.
• Willingness to work early shifts and during peak periods.
