Project Manager
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Brackenfell, Cape Town. The successful candidate will have a relevant Project Management, Mechanical Degree, or trade-related qualification, with 5–10 years’ experience in project management and strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of machines and tools. A solid understanding of HVAC systems, components, and their functions is essential, along with a proactive approach to expanding technical knowledge. A valid driver’s license and own vehicle are required. - Relevant Project Management, Mechanical Degree, or trade-related qualification.
- 5–10 years’ experience in a Project Management role, with mechanical and electrical knowledge of machines and tools.
- Excellent understanding of HVAC systems, including various components, their functions, and a proactive approach to expanding technical knowledge.
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle required.
DUTIES:
- Manage projects dynamically and effectively on-site.
- Manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and coordinate the ordering of relevant materials.
- Take responsibility for claim submissions.
- Manage variation order quotations and obtain necessary approvals.
- Develop and maintain project plans, including work schedules and completion deadlines.
- Manage all site meetings and site instructions.
- Schedule teams and maintain strict control of labour on projects.
- Manage and understand contra charges.
- Maintain an understanding of building contracts and related requirements.
- Read, interpret, and measure from technical drawings and plans.
- Conduct accurate on-site measurements.
- Liaise effectively with engineers, builders, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure completed project scopes are achieved and as-built drawings are accurately aligned.
- Compile and submit Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail in planning and execution.
