Project Manager

Are you a proactive self-starter who can manage administration while supporting multiple off-site construction projects?

Our international client, based in Cape Town, is looking for a highly organised professional to oversee the day-to-day coordination of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.

With at least three years’ experience in project management and exposure to renovation or construction projects, you will be well positioned to add value in this fast-paced environment.

REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years’ experience in project management / coordination
  • Hands-on exposure to renovation or construction projects (direct or adjacent experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualifications
  • Strong understanding of renovation workflows, contractors, and compliance requirements
  • High proficiency with systems and tools; experience with monday.com or similar platforms preferred
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when auditing progress and reports
  • Strong decision-making ability with confidence to take ownership and accountability
  • Highly tech-savvy with a mindset for scalable solutions
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-changing, high-growth start-up environment
  • Exceptional prioritisation and time management skills
  • Hybrid working, 2 days a week from our Cape Town office

DUTIES
  • Project Delivery & Programme Ownership
  • Consistently deliver projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
  • Develop, manage, and take full ownership of detailed project timelines, ensuring clear visibility of build durations, dependencies, and critical milestones
  • Receive and interpret design briefs and scopes from designers, proactively clarifying queries and resolving any ambiguities at an early stage
  • Maintain full oversight of the project pipeline, including contractor capacity, upcoming start dates, and potential programme risks
  • Take day-to-day ownership of the transformation calendar, ensuring alignment with the key objective of calendar activation within 24 hours of the photoshoot
  • Appoint suitable contractors for each project based on expertise, availability, past performance, and specific project requirements
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with contractors on site (this is a remote role where effective relationship management is essential).
  • Monitor and coordinate daily on-site progress, ensuring work is delivered according to scope, quality standards, and agreed timelines
  • Oversee quality assurance through milestone inspections, remote verification processes, and third-party checks where necessary
  • Procure materials in accordance with approved design handovers and project schedules
  • Collaborate closely with Finance to ensure adequate cash flow for the timely procurement of materials
  • Coordinate material deliveries to site, confirming completeness and resolving any shortages or damages promptly
  • Track contractor progress against agreed milestones and liaise with Finance to facilitate staged payment releases
  • Manage mid-project variations by assessing impacts on time, cost, and scope, while ensuring clear approval and communication processes are followed.
 
Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
