Programme Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional change initiatives within Transactional Services.
This role is accountable for translating business strategy into executable programme plans and ensuring successful delivery across multiple workstreams, including business, technology, operations, risk, and compliance.
The successful candidate will drive governance, manage stakeholders at executive level, oversee budgets and benefits realisation, and ensure delivery outcomes align with strategic business objectives.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong programme governance, financial oversight, and the ability to manage large-scale transformation initiatives within a banking or financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities Programme Delivery & Execution
- Lead the planning, governance, and delivery of large-scale Transactional Services programmes
- Develop and maintain programme roadmaps, milestones, critical paths, and dependencies
- Ensure programmes are delivered within agreed scope, timelines, budget, and quality standards
- Coordinate multiple workstreams across technology, operations, finance, risk, and compliance
Stakeholder & Executive Management
- Engage with senior stakeholders across business and technology
- Present programme updates to Exco, SteerCo, and senior leadership forums
- Manage escalations, risks, and executive decision-making processes
- Build strong relationships with vendors and delivery partners
Governance, Risk & Control
- Maintain robust programme governance structures
- Manage RAID logs, risk registers, dependency mapping, and issue escalation
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
- Track delivery risks and implement mitigation plans
Financial & Benefits Management
- Manage programme budgets, forecasts, and financial provisions
- Track programme spend, savings, efficiencies, and benefits realisation
- Support business cases and investment decision-making
- Report on financial performance and value delivery
Change & Delivery Enablement
- Drive business readiness and change adoption
- Coordinate Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery workstreams
- Enable collaboration across cross-functional teams
- Support communication and change management initiatives
Requirements Experience
- Proven experience managing large-scale programmes within banking or financial services
- Strong exposure to Transactional Services, Payments, Cash Management, or Core Banking
- Experience engaging senior executives and governance committees
- Proven success managing multi-vendor, multi-workstream delivery environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / BCom / Business Administration
- Postgraduate Diploma in Project / Programme Management
- PMP certification
- Scrum Certification
- SAFe certification
- ITIL 4 Foundation
