Programme Head / National Cytology Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the national cytology programme in line with strategic healthcare objectives.

• Oversee the implementation of appropriate cytology techniques and emerging technologies.

• Facilitate participation in the development and review of national policies, protocols, and clinical guidelines.

• Coordinate and monitor national cervical cancer screening programmes.

• Ensure high-quality, customer-focused cytology service delivery across laboratories.

• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Monitor, analyse, evaluate, and report on programme performance, trends, and challenges.

• Research international developments and recommend innovative technologies and best practices.

• Support the development of laboratory standards and accreditation initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with relevant quality management systems and accreditation requirements.

• Provide strategic advice regarding financial models and costing of cytology services.

• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
