Role Overview

University of Johannesburg needs a Professor (Faculty of Humanities: English Department) who can step into a practical role in Gauteng. A key part of the work involves Publish accredited and peer reviewed research annually.

Key Responsibilities

Support the team by managing research in the relevant field that articulates well with the existing research interests of the department.
Keep momentum on develop a research and/or creative writing pipeline.
Support the team by managing assist in the crafting and implementation of the departmental research strategy and the English Literature and Creative Writing teaching and learning strategy.
Take responsibility for the core day-to-day work expected of a Professor (Faculty of Humanities: English Department).
Work with colleagues, customers or suppliers to keep work moving and issues visible.

Requirements

Enough hands-on experience to understand the pace and standards of research work.
Clear communication and the confidence to work with different stakeholders.
Sound judgement, ownership of assigned work and willingness to solve problems properly.
