Production Supply Chain Manager

Are you an experienced Supply Chain professional from a manufacturing environment who has a solid ERP background?

Our client in Parklands is seeking a results-driven individual to manage procurement, inventory, warehousing, and production planning activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supplier management, stock control, and process improvement.

Success in this role will be measured by implementing a new ERP system, accurate inventory management, cost-effective procurement, strong supplier relationships, and supply chain processes that support production and operational performance.
 


REQUIREMENTS
  • Grade 12 coupled with a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory management and stock control practices
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Odoo, SAP, NetSuite, or similar platforms; Odoo experience will be advantageous
  • Previous exposure to a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
  • Experience in warehouse operations, layout planning, and process optimisation
  • Sound knowledge of procurement, inventory, and supply chain management principles
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong Excel proficiency and experience working with data analysis and reporting
DUTIES
  • Plan and manage procurement based on production and stock requirements
  • Purchase both raw materials and finished goods from suppliers
  • Negotiate and secure the best possible pricing and terms
  • Monitor pricing, lead times, and supplier performance
  • Maintain accurate, real-time stock levels
  • Implement and enforce stock control procedures
  • Prevent stock shortages and overstocking
  • Assist in setting up and organising physical warehouse spaces
  • Improve layout, flow, and accessibility of stock
  • Implement clear stock locations, labelling, and storage systems
  • Drive continuous improvement in warehouse organisation
  • Determine what items need to be manufactured, in what quantities, and by when
  • Plan production requirements for both projects and stock
  • Align planning with procurement timelines and stock levels
  • Provide clear production requirements to the Factory Manager
  • Provide visibility on stock levels and value, procurement status, and risks
  • Identify potential shortages or delays in advance
  • Support management and the financial department with accurate operational reporting
 
Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
