Procurement Support Team Lead

About the Role

A well-established organisation within the construction materials industry is looking for a Procurement Support Team Lead to join their Finance team. This role will be based at a Shared Services Centre and will report into the National Procurement Manager.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing procurement master data, leading a support team, and driving process improvements, particularly within SAP and digital procurement systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, verify, and maintain vendor master data on SAP

  • Manage the creation, amendment, and extension of material master data across multiple company codes

  • Compile and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on vendor and material data

  • Submit and manage supplier credit applications

  • Support and enhance Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) initiatives

  • Maintain accurate and clean master data records

  • Manage communication with suppliers, vendors, and internal procurement stakeholders

  • Compile and analyse vendor performance statistics (spend, payment terms, B-BBEE levels)

  • Identify and implement technology-driven improvements within procurement

  • Lead system and process improvement projects, ensuring solutions are maintained and optimised

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and B-BBEE legislation

  • Lead and support a team to achieve operational targets

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or Procurement Management

  • CIPS qualification (advantageous)

  • 3+ years’ experience in a financial or procurement environment

  • 2+ years’ experience in a corporate procurement or administrative role

  • 3+ years’ hands-on experience with SAP (MM/FI modules)

  • Strong experience in master data management (vendor & material)

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience with online procurement systems and implementations

  • Solid understanding of B-BBEE legislation and procurement processes
