Procurement Specialist - 24-Month Contract

Role Overview

Four Procurement Specialists are required for a 24-month contract with a major state-owned client, with positions in KwaZulu-Natal and Free State. The role is full-time at the client's offices and includes coaching and upskilling client procurement staff.

Responsibilities

  • Determine procurement strategy and select the appropriate sourcing mechanism.
  • Gather end-user requirements, compile spend analysis, and identify opportunities for consolidated contracts.
  • Compile tender documents, issue enquiries, and source a suitable supply base.
  • Coordinate tender evaluations across financial, legal, technical, and commercial dimensions.
  • Develop negotiation strategies, lead negotiations, and conclude agreements within mandate.
  • Establish and administer contracts and purchase orders, including modifications and deviations.
  • Load concluded contracts and purchase orders in SAP Materials Management.
  • Identify and manage financial and contractual risk.
  • Act as the contact between the client and suppliers and resolve contractual and payment queries.
  • Record savings realised and report on procurement performance.
  • Transfer procurement skills to client personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, or a diploma or related bachelor's-level qualification in Logistics, Purchasing, or Commerce.
  • Proficiency in the NEC suite of contracts.
  • SAP Materials Management experience creating contracts and purchase orders.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Solid end-to-end procurement experience in a large corporate or state-owned-enterprise environment.
  • Resident in KwaZulu-Natal or Free State and able to commute daily; no travel, accommodation, or relocation costs are payable.
