Procurement Officer

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and supply of materials required for our glass and aluminium manufacturing and installation operations. The successful candidate will ensure that all materials are procured at the best possible price, quality, and delivery time while maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring uninterrupted production.

The ideal candidate will have experience within the glass and aluminium industry and possess excellent negotiation, planning, and inventory management skills.

 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Procurement & Purchasing
  • Source and procure aluminium profiles, glass, hardware, sealants, gaskets, accessories, consumables, and other production materials
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements
  • Issue purchase orders accurately and ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply-related issues
  • Develop and maintain a reliable supplier network
Supplier Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Conduct supplier evaluations based on pricing, quality, delivery performance, and service
  • Identify alternative suppliers to reduce procurement risks
  • Negotiate annual pricing agreements where applicable
Inventory & Stock Control
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure production requirements are met
  • Prevent stock shortages and overstocking
  • Work closely with stores personnel to maintain accurate inventory records
  • Assist with regular stock takes and inventory reconciliations
Production & Operations Support
  • Liaise daily with production, planning, and installation teams to ensure material availability
  • Ensure urgent procurement requirements are addressed promptly
  • Monitor lead times and communicate potential delays to management
  • Coordinate deliveries to meet project deadlines
Cost Control
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
  • Monitor procurement expenditure against budget
  • Analyse purchasing trends and recommend improvements
Administration & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier documentation
  • Ensure purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes are correctly processed
  • Prepare procurement reports for management
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ethical procurement standards
