Pharmacy Nurse

Our client is looking for a Pharmacy Nurse to provide professional nursing services within a pharmacy setting, including patient assessments, preventative healthcare, chronic disease management, health education, and basic clinical procedures while ensuring compliance with nursing regulations and pharmacy policies.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN), as required by local regulations.
  • Current registration with the relevant Nursing Council.
  • Primary Health Care (PHC) qualification (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Immunisation certification (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of nursing experience.
  • Experience in primary healthcare, retail pharmacy, or clinic environments is advantageous.
  • Experience in chronic disease management and wellness programmes is preferred.

Knowledge
  • Primary healthcare principles.
  • Vaccination protocols.
  • Chronic disease management.
  • Infection prevention and control.
  • Medication administration.
  • Health promotion and patient education.
  • Medical record documentation.
  • Occupational health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services
  • Conduct patient assessments and basic health screenings.
  • Monitor and manage patients with chronic conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, asthma).
  • Administer prescribed medications and injections.
  • Provide wound care and dressings.
  • Perform health checks including, Blood pressure, Blood glucose, Cholesterol, BMI and Peak flow.
  • Administer vaccinations according to national guidelines.
  • Perform pregnancy testing and other approved point-of-care tests.
  • Identify patients requiring referral to a doctor or specialist.

Patient Education
  • Educate patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Counsel patients on medication adherence.
  • Promote wellness and preventative healthcare programmes.
  • Provide smoking cessation and weight management advice.

Administrative Duties
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Ensure informed consent is obtained where required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Prepare clinic reports and statistics.
  • Manage appointment schedules.

Compliance
  • Comply with nursing ethical standards and professional regulations.
  • Maintain current nursing registration and CPD requirements.
  • Follow pharmacy policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
