Are you a seasoned Payroll Administrator who knows wages payroll inside out?
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on payroll professional who can take ownership of high-volume, hourly-paid payroll across multiple operational sites.
This is not a purely administrative payroll role. You will be dealing directly with sites, resolving discrepancies, working to strict deadlines and ensuring that payroll, benefits, deductions, employee changes and supporting documentation are accurate and compliant.
If you are highly competent on Sage 300 People, understand the realities of wages payroll and can confidently manage payroll from clocking data through to final payment and reconciliation, we want to hear from you.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – NON-NEGOTIABLE
- Minimum 7 years’ practical end-to-end payroll processing experience
- Minimum 3 years’ hands-on Sage 300 People payroll processing experience – 5+ years advantageous
- Proven high-volume wages/hourly-paid payroll experience
- Experience working in a multi-site, operational, construction, engineering or similar environment
- Strong experience with time and attendance systems, including importing, validating and reconciling clocking information
- Practical Bargaining Council payroll knowledge
- BCCEI experience strongly preferred
- Experience administering and reconciling:
- Provident / retirement funds
- Funeral benefits
- Trade union deductions and schedules
- Experience processing:
- Overtime and double time
- Allowances
- Leave and unpaid time
- Payroll adjustments
- Terminations and final payments
- Supplementary / off-cycle payroll runs
- Sound working knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL, BCEA and statutory payroll deductions
- Strong Excel, reconciliation and payroll problem-solving skills
- A recognised payroll, HR, finance or related qualification is advantageous
- Process and reconcile wages payroll using Sage 300 People
- Manage main, supplementary, adjustment and termination payroll runs
- Import and reconcile ERS-Bio time and attendance data
- Process overtime, double time, allowances, leave, unpaid time and payroll adjustments
- Process employee terminations and final payments
- Administer applicable BCCEI payroll requirements
- Reconcile provident / retirement fund, funeral and union deductions
- Prepare UI-19s, wage schedules, salary confirmations and employment confirmations
- Administer employee engagements, transfers, payroll changes and terminations
- Maintain accurate employee records and supporting payroll documentation
- Prepare contracts and payroll-related HR documentation
- Maintain banking, personal, leave and employment information
- Assist employees with payroll, benefits, deductions and employment-related queries
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and queries from operational sites
- Support onboarding and offboarding administration
- Assist with EMP201, EMP501, IRP5 and payroll audit requirements
- Provide payroll and employment information required for relevant claims and reporting
