Outbound Sales Consultant (RE5/FAIS) - Pretoria East

The Outbound Sales Consultant is responsible for proactively engaging prospective and existing customers through outbound telephone sales activities. The role focuses on converting cold leads and warm transfers into successful sales by understanding customer needs, recommending suitable insurance solutions, and delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Outbound Sales
  • Conduct high-volume outbound sales calls to prospective and existing customers.
  • Contact customers from allocated cold lead and existing customer campaigns.
  • Receive and manage warm transfers from lead generation teams and convert opportunities into sales.
  • Build rapport quickly and establish customer needs through effective questioning and active listening.
  • Present suitable insurance solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Clearly explain product features, benefits, premiums, exclusions, and policy terms.
  • Professionally overcome objections and confidently close sales opportunities.
  • Ensure customers receive a smooth and professional onboarding experience.
Customer Service
  • Deliver a professional, customer-focused sales experience during every interaction.
  • Build trust through ethical selling practices and transparent communication.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships while achieving sales objectives.
  • Respond professionally to customer questions and concerns.
Compliance and Administration
  • Ensure all regulatory disclosures and customer verification requirements are completed.
  • Adhere to FAIS requirements, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, and company compliance standards.
  • Accurately capture all customer interactions, sales information, disclosures, and consents within the CRM system.
  • Maintain complete and accurate customer records and documentation.
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Performance Management
  • Achieve daily outbound call targets, talk-time objectives, and monthly sales targets.
  • Maintain required quality assurance and compliance scores.
  • Consistently follow approved sales processes and scripts.
  • Monitor individual performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in coaching, training, and performance development initiatives.
Team Contribution
  • Share best practices and successful sales techniques with colleagues.
  • Contribute ideas to improve campaigns, scripts, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Support team objectives and contribute to a positive working environment.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Role Requirements
Qualifications
  • Matric Certificate.
  • RE5 Qualification.
  • FAIS-recognised qualification (NQF Level 5 or equivalent).
  • Class of Business certification applicable to products sold.
  • CPD requirements maintained in accordance with FAIS legislation.
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in outbound telesales, contact centre sales, or cold calling within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Experience selling insurance or financial products will be advantageous.
  • Experience using CRM systems and telephony platforms.
Knowledge
  • FAIS legislation and Fit and Proper requirements.
  • Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
  • Insurance sales processes and customer engagement techniques.
  • CRM systems and customer record management.
