Operations Manager – Logistics & Fleet Maintenance
We are currently looking for an Operations Manager – Logistics & Fleet Maintenance who will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the logistics department and truck workshop, ensuring maximum fleet availability, operational efficiency, cost control, and compliance with safety standards.

- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Trade Test Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic (preferred).
- Valid Code EC driver's licence (advantageous).
- Minimum 5–10 years' experience in logistics operations and fleet management.
- Extensive experience working in a heavy-duty truck workshop.
- Proven experience as a qualified diesel mechanic.
- Extensive experience repairing and maintaining FAW trucks.
- Extensive experience repairing and maintaining Volvo trucks.
- Experience supervising workshop teams and operational staff.
- Experience using fleet management and maintenance systems.
- Technical Skills
- Advanced diesel engine diagnostics.
- Heavy vehicle electrical systems.
- Air brake systems.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Transmission and differential repairs.
- Preventative maintenance planning.
- Fleet management software.

Operations Management
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily logistics and workshop operations.
- Ensure the fleet is maintained to maximise vehicle uptime and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and performance standards.
- Monitor productivity, turnaround times, and workshop performance.
- Prepare operational reports and present performance metrics to management.
- Manage operational budgets and control maintenance costs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Schedule preventative maintenance and servicing for all fleet vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle performance and identify recurring mechanical issues.
- Coordinate breakdown response and emergency repairs.
- Ensure all vehicles meet roadworthiness and regulatory requirements.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement.
- Supervise diesel mechanics, technicians, and workshop staff.
- Allocate work according to technician skills and workshop priorities.
- Ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to manufacturer standards.
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
- Implement quality control measures for all maintenance and repair work.
- Diagnose and resolve complex diesel engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
- Provide technical support and guidance to workshop staff.
- Conduct inspections and approve major repairs.
- Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic reports.
- Perform and supervise maintenance and repairs on FAW trucks.
- Perform and supervise maintenance and repairs on Volvo trucks.
- Diagnose engine, gearbox, braking, suspension, and electrical system faults.
- Utilise diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Ensure repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements where applicable.
- Lead, mentor, and develop workshop and logistics personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations.
- Identify training and development needs.
- Foster teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with customers regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with suppliers for parts procurement and service support.
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
