Operations Manager - FAO and Payroll

Role Overview

Lead a growing finance and accounting outsourcing, payroll and global business-services delivery operation in Umhlanga. The role combines operational leadership, client engagement, process development and service ramp-up.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop operational teams and team leaders.
• Manage payroll processing support, employee data, deductions, benefits, pensions and payroll queries.
• Drive SLA performance, quality, accuracy, productivity and client satisfaction.
• Support transition, onboarding and ramp-up of new clients.
• Translate client requirements into delivery models, staffing plans, SOPs and controls.
• Manage operational risk, compliance, data privacy and audit readiness.
• Build capacity as services and clients are added.
• Produce performance reports, capacity forecasts, risk logs and improvement plans.
• Work with Sales, Implementation, HR, IT, Quality and senior leadership.
• Drive Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, automation and workflow improvement.

Requirements

• Five or more years of operations management in BPO, GBS, shared services, outsourcing, payroll, HR operations or professional services.
• Practical payroll and/or finance-operations knowledge, including P2P, O2C, R2R, general ledger, payables, receivables or reconciliations.
• People leadership, client-facing service delivery and SLA-management experience.
• Transition, ramp-up, knowledge-transfer and SOP-creation experience.
• Advanced Excel and strong controls, compliance, information-security and data-privacy understanding.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, HR, Payroll, Operations or a related field preferred.
