Operating Manager of Management Personnel
Job Description
Do you have what it takes to lead the leaders?We're looking for an Operations Manager to mentor a team of Managers, and then in turn, the people who report into them.
Our client, based in the UK, is requring an efficent Leader to join their Cape Town office, reporting into the Director.
In this role, you'll oversee a group of Managers who lead remote teams, ensuring the right procedures and leadership are in place so that all data systems are successfully executed and updated timeously for their successful operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience leading leaders and their performing teams
- Experience managing within a multi-tier structure, coordinating across managers, leads and operators simultaneously
- Background operations management
- Highly advantageous if you have experience in data, improvement operational processes
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
- A collaborative leadership style with a focus on accountability, continuous improvement, and team development
- Organised with critical thinking and decision-making
- Confidence with reporting, spreadsheets, and workflow systems such as Jira
- Experience designing and delivering training and capability-building initiatives
- Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to perform effectively in a changing environment
- Lead, mentor and develop Team Leads and Managers
- Supports ownership of quality of daily operations
- Ensure validation, accuracy, and consistency standards
- Own and improve the quality control frameworks, workflow processes and training structures that keep the function reliable and scalable
- Monitor team and data performance against KPIs, tracking error and exception rates and acting on trends early
- Handle escalations above Team Lead level and remove blockers to delivery
- Plan and manage capacity and pipeline across teams, balancing workload against deadlines and available resources
- Optimise workflows, identify inefficiencies, implement changes and measure the impact on efficiency and accuracy
- Apply Agile practices to guide and support Team Leads, keeping delivery organised, visible and consistent across teams
- Build and streamline training programmes for new hires and existing team members
- Report progress, risks and recommendations to the Director, providing clear input to support planning, prioritisation and resourcing
- Collaborate with the Engineering team, Customer Support team and other internal teams
