Network Engineer
Introduction
An established organisation is seeking a Network Engineer to join its team in Newcastle. This role will contribute to software, systems, and digital capability across a growing operational landscape. Duties & Responsibilities
This role combines hands-on technical responsibility with operational coordination and clear ownership of delivery outcomes.
- Support infrastructure, cloud, network, security, or platform components to maintain availability, performance, and control.
- Contribute to resilience, scalability, and service continuity planning.
- Assist with deployments, configuration changes, patching, backup checks, and recovery readiness.
- Work with internal stakeholders, service providers, and project teams on upgrades, enhancements, and issue resolution.
- Monitor environments, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions or preventative improvements.
- Maintain documentation for environments, processes, access control, and change activities.
- Review logs, alerts, and technical performance metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Follow change management, security, and operational governance requirements consistently.
This role will also require disciplined communication, documentation accuracy, and a practical approach to balancing delivery quality with operational timelines.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Applicants should bring a solid technical foundation together with the ability to work in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Exposure to infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, monitoring, administration, or environment support relevant to the role.
- Understanding of operational controls, technical troubleshooting, and change management discipline.
- Good working knowledge of documentation standards, structured problem-solving, and stakeholder communication.
- Typically suited to candidates with around 3–6 years relevant experience and the ability to manage core responsibilities independently.
