Our client based in Benoni is looking for a Motor Fitter / Electric Motor Fitter to assemble, install, maintain, repair, and test electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric.
Trade Test Certificate as Motor Fitter, Electrical Fitter, or equivalent artisan qualification.
3–5 years’ experience in motor fitting or rotating equipment maintenance.
Experience with AC/DC motors, pumps, and industrial machinery preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair electric motors and rotating equipment.
Strip, clean, rewind, reassemble, and test motors.
Perform bearing replacements, shaft alignment, balancing, and vibration checks.
Install and commission motors and mechanical equipment.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance.
Use measuring instruments and workshop tools safely and accurately.
Maintain maintenance records and job reports.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
