Mixer and Compounder

Role Overview

Blend, mix and prepare chemicals for a packaging and cosmetics operation in Sandton, ensuring finished products meet required specifications and production standards.

Responsibilities

• Measure and combine raw materials and chemicals according to formulas and production orders.
• Set up, operate, monitor and maintain mixers, tanks and pumps.
• Conduct routine quality checks on mixed products.
• Follow hazardous-material handling, PPE, safety and housekeeping requirements.
• Maintain batch, chemical-usage, equipment-performance and incident records.
• Clean, inspect and perform basic maintenance on mixing equipment.
• Troubleshoot production, equipment and specification issues.
• Work with production supervisors and quality personnel to maintain production flow and schedules.

Requirements

• Matric with Mathematics.
• Good Excel skills.
• Chemical or manufacturing-environment experience is preferred.
• Experience operating and monitoring mixing and blending machinery.
• High accuracy in measuring ingredients and following recipes.
• Strong safety, calculation, troubleshooting and work-instruction skills.
• Ability to perform physical work in a fast-paced environment.
