Millwright

A leading FMCG company based in Atlantis, Western Cape is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Millwright for a permanent position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting high-speed production operations within a food manufacturing environment.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • Trade Tested Millwright (essential)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in maintenance within FMCG or food manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with PLCs, VFDs, automation and electrical control systems
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems including welding, fabrication, pneumatics and fluid transfer
  • Experience with high-speed packaging equipment (advantageous)
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards
  • Exposure to reliability centred maintenance (e.g. CMRP advantageous)
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends and after hours
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production and facility equipment
  • Conduct fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting on PLCs, automation systems and machinery
  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability in a high-speed FMCG environment
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Maintain and manage spare parts inventory
  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, safety regulations and food safety standards
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements
