A leading FMCG company based in Atlantis, Western Cape is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Millwright for a permanent position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting high-speed production operations within a food manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering
Trade Tested Millwright (essential)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in maintenance within FMCG or food manufacturing environment
Strong experience with PLCs, VFDs, automation and electrical control systems
Knowledge of mechanical systems including welding, fabrication, pneumatics and fluid transfer
Experience with high-speed packaging equipment (advantageous)
Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards
Exposure to reliability centred maintenance (e.g. CMRP advantageous)
Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
Willing to work overtime, weekends and after hours

Key Responsibilities:

Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production and facility equipment
Conduct fault finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting on PLCs, automation systems and machinery
Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability in a high-speed FMCG environment
Execute planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance tasks
Maintain and manage spare parts inventory
Develop and implement maintenance procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with GMP, safety regulations and food safety standards
Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements
