Mechatronics Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing - PLC - New Germany, KZN)

Synopsis

Our client, operating in the automotive component manufacturing industry. is looking to hire an experienced Mechatronics Engineer to join their growing Manufacturing Department based in New Germany, KZN. This role will report into the Manufacturing Director. Purpose of the Role: To operationally support current manufacturing facilities and all other related projects. To use a combination of mechanical, electrical, computer and software skills to work with smart technologies such as robots, automated guided systems and computer-integrated manufacturing equipment. This will contribute to creating an essential foundation for the expected growth in automation within manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for assigned projects in line with divisional requirements.
• Control and maintain Mechatronics Associated Spares requirements for the Plant.
• Conduct timeous Mechatronics repairs and maintenance to plant equipment.
• Maintain an effective back-up of all software & PLC programs associated with plant and facilities.
• Ensure timeous response to faults.
• Conduct effective troubleshooting to identify problems and carry out repairs.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on facilities and attending to breakdown.
• Support all departments with mechatronics requirements.
• Develop and build new mechatronics facilities.
• Facilitate the wiring of PLC panels and other electronic machinery.
