Material Handler

Role Overview

This position is responsible for the careful handling, packing, and organisation of aluminium stock to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The role includes picking, wrapping, loading, receiving, dispatching, and assisting with deliveries when required.

Responsibilities

• Pick, wrap, protect, and load stock onto vehicles for delivery or collection.
• Pack materials onto designated racks and assist with receiving stock.
• Receive and dispatch stock accurately.
• Inspect materials for quality and protect them when wrapping.
• Keep warehouse areas, racks, and stock clean, organised, and free from hazards.
• Assist controllers and drivers in packing and strapping vehicles.
• Support controllers in servicing customers.
• Follow SOPs and obtain complete Proof of Collection when assisting.
• Check Cash/EFT invoices so goods are not dispatched without proof of payment.
• Assist with deliveries, vehicle housekeeping, road rules, and safety requirements.
• Participate in compulsory stock takes.
• Report unauthorised, suspicious, unsafe, or unproductive behaviour to management.
• Work overtime and Saturdays when required.

Requirements

• Matric or Grade 12 equivalent; recognition of prior learning through experience may be considered.
• EB driver's licence with valid PrDP.
