Marketing Lead: Technology Leadership and Innovation - Johannesburg

Role Purpose
The Marketing Lead: Technology Leadership and Innovation is responsible for driving executive thought leadership, product marketing, strategic communications, and lead generation initiatives related to the Group CTO portfolio, with a strong focus on AI Factory solutions. The role supports executive positioning, marketing strategy execution, and demand generation across the business while collaborating with operating company marketing teams, agencies, and stakeholders to achieve scalable market impact.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Communications and Thought Leadership
Develop and execute thought leadership strategies that position senior executives as leading voices within the technology and business sectors
Create keynote presentations, strategic narratives, and executive content for conferences, industry events, and stakeholder engagements
Work with PR and media agencies to secure earned media opportunities for senior leadership
Develop executive communication content, including articles, presentations, internal communications, and strategic messaging
Manage and coordinate executive content calendars to ensure aligned and impactful communication across executive portfolios
Product Marketing – AI Factory
Own and drive the product marketing strategy for AI Factory solutions
Refine and maintain product value propositions, messaging, and positioning
Develop customer success stories, case studies, product demonstrations, and supporting collateral
Maintain and update website content and customer-facing materials related to AI Factory offerings
Ensure consistent product messaging across all operating companies and customer engagement channels
Lead Generation and Campaign Management
Design and execute integrated B2B lead-generation and demand-generation campaigns
Develop campaign strategies, audience targeting plans, and marketing offers
Coordinate campaign execution with internal stakeholders and external agencies
Manage lead allocation processes and monitor lead progression through the sales funnel
Measure campaign effectiveness, analyse ROI, and provide recommendations for optimisation
Support proposal and RFP activities where AI Factory solutions form part of the offering
Marketing Support and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Provide marketing support to business development and product teams
Support operating company marketing teams with campaigns, events, executive participation, and content contributions
Integrate AI Factory messaging into broader operating company marketing initiatives
Develop briefing documents, templates, messaging frameworks, and campaign support materials
Identify opportunities to scale AI Factory visibility and demand generation across the organisation
Strategic Presentation and Narrative Development
Support the development of strategic presentations and executive-level storytelling for business forums and leadership engagements
Translate technical and strategic concepts into clear, engaging, and executive-ready communication material
Assist with presentations for strategy sessions, business reviews, and organisational townhalls
Budget Management and Administration
Manage marketing budgets associated with the Group CTO portfolio and AI Factory initiatives
Track and report on marketing spend, campaign performance, media coverage, and lead-generation outcomes
Coordinate scheduling and logistics for PR activities, media engagements, speaking opportunities, and executive communications
Ensure effective administration and reporting processes are maintained

Role Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
Postgraduate qualification will be advantageous
Minimum 10 years’ experience in marketing, communications, product marketing, or lead generation within the technology sector
Experience marketing technology solutions such as AI, cloud, data, or digital products will be advantageous
Proven experience developing executive thought leadership content for senior business and technology leaders
Experience designing and executing B2B lead-generation campaigns and measuring ROI
Experience working with PR, creative, digital, and media agencies
Strong stakeholder management experience within a group or multi-business environment
Ability to work independently and deliver results through matrix structures and agency partnerships
