Marketing Assistant - Pretoria East
Job Description
ROLE PURPOSE
The Marketing Assistant provides dedicated support to the Marketing Department across a range of marketing activities and initiatives. This is an entry-level development role suited to a motivated marketing graduate who is eager to gain practical, hands-on experience across the marketing mix.The role supports brand awareness, client engagement, digital marketing, public relations, advertising and day-to-day marketing operations, while developing practical skills across multiple platforms and marketing channels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Support
- Support channel marketing initiatives aimed at increasing brand awareness, engagement and lead generation.
- Assist with the planning and execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Marketing Department.
- Assist with coordinating marketing activities to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Support the team with research, campaign administration and other marketing-related activities as required.
Client Engagement & Communications
- Assist with client engagement and communication projects across multiple platforms.
- Support the development and implementation of client communication campaigns.
- Assist with marketing activations and events aimed at engaging clients and target audiences.
- Interact professionally with clients, stakeholders and members of the public during marketing activities and events.
Digital & Social Media Marketing
- Assist with the creation and scheduling of social media content across relevant platforms.
- Support the management of online community interactions and engagement.
- Monitor social media activity and assist with identifying opportunities to improve engagement.
- Assist with digital marketing initiatives and campaigns.
- Contribute ideas for new and innovative digital marketing activities, including the use of AI tools.
Public Relations & Advertising
- Assist with public relations activities and initiatives.
- Support advertising campaigns and related marketing activities.
- Assist with coordinating marketing materials and communications with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support for PR and advertising projects.
Marketing Administration & Coordination
- Assist with the coordination of day-to-day marketing activities and projects.
- Maintain accurate marketing information, documentation and records.
- Assist with coordinating deadlines, deliverables and project requirements.
- Support the Marketing Department with ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Experience
- BCom Marketing degree or similar relevant qualification from a reputable institution.
- Recent graduate or up to 1 year's experience in a marketing assistant or similar role.
- Marketing internship or previous exposure to marketing activities will be advantageous but is not essential.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
- Technology savvy with an ability to learn and work with new digital platforms and tools.
- An interest in and appetite for artificial intelligence and its application within marketing will be advantageous.
- Basic analytical skills and an interest in data-driven marketing and performance measurement.
